It's a story told by authors throughout history. Many have written tall tales about it, but no one on Earth thought they would live it. Environmental change, population explosion, drought, political unrest, all came together into a perfect storm of destruction. Flinging a rugged fleet of ships into space in order to procure vital minerals from neighboring planets, the Earth waited for each shipment. Water was scarce, crops craved nutrients, and those in the Fleet were payed well for their work, but only if they were successful. Their families on Earth depended on their success as well. There was much turmoil in the fleet, as no one was expendable, and everyone wanted more. More water allowances, more money, more hope that they could provide for their loved ones. There were many deaths.

Three months ago, the fleet returned to Earth, only to find rubble in its place and a horde of alien ships sifting through what remained. The resulting fight was bloody and devastating, but the Borax Fleet prevailed. Now, they rebuild, using the technology of an alien species, and an incredible device that would change the game forever...

Aliens (must have a skill that the ship can use, otherwise you'd be dead)
Medical (doctors, medics, etc)
Technical (engineers, computer geeks, agricultural, etc)
The Guard (brutes, weapon experts, etc)
Support (cooks, janitors, etc)

Sure! Just remember, though, the more ships, the more spread out the members and the greater chance that you'll be RPing on your own. In addition, you will be in charge of your own ship and what happens on it, so you will need to be an active member. Why not start out on Soren's ship and then branch out once we get more members.

As the Fleet was mainly meant for long term hauling of supplies, minerals, and such, the only women would be hardy workers, engineers, pilots, etc. There are no wall flowers in the Fleet. You wouldn't survive.

Now it is possible that the aliens would have taken some humans from Earth before attacking, and some may have survived the carnage, but you had better be prepared with a good back story if you want to play one of those.
